Russian science can not remain silent when such wrong notions about the western region of Russia, which spread throughout Europe, and obscures the most obvious and indisputable fact of the West Russian history and life. Ten million people living between Great Russia and Poland are not understood by Western Europe, are not recognized as worthy of serious attention, despite their eventful history, in spite of the loud, conclusive statement about yourself from the very beginning of the Polish troubles; they were numbered among the Poles with such levity, an example of which is not a story with us since ceased to look at nations as a herd, which can be to drive where they like. How can we explain such an unprecedented, astonishing neglect of the Western society in the country with ten million inhabitants? We leave aside the insidious suggestion to develop and maintain in Western Europe, it is a real lack of understanding of the people of Western Russia and its actual direction.
